CalcMyRemodel

About CalcMyRemodel

I built CalcMyRemodel to make one part of home projects a little easier: figuring out the numbers. How much countertop do I need? What does a heat pump really cost? Will new windows ever pay for themselves? Answers to questions like these are often scattered across dozens of websites, or hidden behind a form that asks for your phone number. These calculators give you a starting point in a few seconds, for free, with no sign-up.

I'm not a contractor, an electrician, or an energy auditor, and this site isn't a substitute for one. What I can do is gather the numbers carefully and put them in one easy-to-use place. Every figure comes from a source you can check: manufacturer price lists and technical data sheets, current installed-cost surveys, the annual Cost vs. Value report for resale value, and ENERGY STAR for energy savings. Each guide lists its sources at the bottom.

Treat every result as an estimate, not a quote. Prices vary by region, by contractor, and by the materials you choose, so for anything involving wiring, plumbing, gas, or structure, get quotes from licensed professionals before you commit.

Always improving

I review the numbers regularly and update them when better data comes out. I'm also working to make the tools simpler and clearer to use. If a number looks off for your area, or something is confusing, please let me know. That feedback is the most useful thing I get.
